BANGWA CAMEROUN Mask Rare mask of naturalist style of the secret society "TROH" (called society of the night).passed on from father to son, there are only nine masks per chiefdom and seven for the subjugated sub-chieftaincies.Symbol of power it is not put on the head but only worn on the shoulder.Stored above the ceiling of the chief's hut, it is impregnated with a thick layer of soot and is exceptionally displayed during major funerals and ceremonies.
