Louis Philippe king of the French (1773 -1850) bronze print - Lot 52
Louis Philippe king of the French (1773 -1850) bronze print with brown patina. H.25 cm Related works: The first statuette of 1834 by James Pradier (see Claude Lapaire's Catalogue raisonné cat. 92) has some variants: the king leans with his left hand on the scroll of the 1830 charter placed on a stele, and holds his bicorne in his right. Other examples of the same size as this statuette are referenced in paragraph 2 of the catalog. Another version, closer to this one in the arrangement of the stele and scroll, was executed by Alexandre Dumont in marble for the Galeries Historiques de Versailles.
