Henri de TOULOUSE-LAUTREC (1864-1901) "Elles" text of introduction by Miche Mélot, Paris, Bib.Nat. Et Tchou, 1990, folio in a burr-walnut veneered window box with elm burr edges and sliding lid. Illustrated with 11 color lithographs by LAUTREC set in a beveled passe-partout covered with laid paper. 950 copies, including 400 for foreign markets (A21). In 1896, publisher Gustave Pellet published "Elles", an album of 11 lithographs by LAUTREC, with a print run of 100 copies. It was a complete failure. Furious, LAUTREC bought back the toc and sold the plates individually, which explains the extreme rarity of complete albums.
