An antique piece of furniture reads like a document. Its maker's stamp, the quality of its marquetry, the condition of its gilt bronzes and its journey from one house to the next count for far more in its value than its style alone.
MYTIKA offers furniture and works of art from the medieval and Renaissance period (Haute Époque) to the 20th century, at its two auction houses in Honfleur and Lisieux. Our sales feature, among others:
Our Belles Ventes (fine sales) take place several times a year in Honfleur and present the most significant pieces in a carefully prepared catalogue, including our traditional New Year's Day sale. Our Ventes Courantes (general sales) are held regularly in Honfleur and Lisieux, offering a steady flow of pieces for collectors and interior designers alike.
The standard is the same in both formats. Our auctioneers and specialists examine every piece: they read stamps and marks, analyse woods and joinery, and identify restorations and later additions. The catalogue reports all of this candidly, which is what allows buyers to bid with confidence.
Every sale is preceded by a public viewing, the moment to open drawers and judge patinas firsthand. On sale day, telephone bids, absentee bids and Drouot Live open every lot to buyers across France and Europe.
A single piece, the contents of a family home or an estate: each calls for its own approach. For larger collections, we also hold on-site sales, as we did for the contents of the Hôtel L'Écrin in Honfleur in June 2026.
Our process takes three steps:
That inherited sideboard no one has ever had appraised may deserve better than a car-boot sale.
